Waitemata District Health Board is the largest DHB in New Zealand providing services to a population of more than 580,000 and employing more than 6,800 people. This team of dynamic Emergency Medicine professionals provide care across two locations - North Shore & Waitakere hospitals. Emergency Departments across both sites receive presentations of more than 100,000 patients annually.

The service has done some outstanding work towards transforming care delivery and by constantly achieving target is one of the top performing DHB's in the country. The role offers plenty of variety and an interesting case mix of adult and paediatric patients.

The North Shore site is recognised by ACEM for advanced training for a period of 12 months. Both departments are supported by comprehensive Diagnostic and Allied Health Services. There is a strong focus and commitment throughout the organisation to meet the current NZ Ministry of Health National Shorter Stays in ED target.

Key requirements:
  • hold a Medical Degree registerable with Medical Council of New Zealand
  • minimum of 4 years post registration
  • non NZ and Australian citizens/ residents must satisfy conditions for immigration to New Zealand
